What is Intermodal Pool (IMP)?

IMP is a website that connects vendors of intermodal equipment with customers who need to rent equipment.

How do I list equipment?

1) Create a free account and enter your company details.

2) Follow the prompts to connect your bank account through Stripe.

3) Enter your equipment information and set your own prices.


When customers submit booking requests you will receive an email notification and you will have 2 hours to accept or decline the request. Depending on the customer’s payment source your payout will be deposited in your account in as little as 2 days.

How do I book equipment?

1) Create a free account and enter your company details, including SCAC, MC, and DOT number.

2) Search for equipment by location, equipment type, and date.

3) Enter your payment information and submit a booking request.


When the vendor accepts your booking request you will receive an email with further instructions regarding insurance requirements and pickup & dropoff procedures. If the vendor declines the request, you will be notified and your payment will not be processed.

How does equipment pickup and dropoff work?

Pickup, dropoff, and sharing of insurance information is arranged between the vendor and the customer. IMP provides vendors with pre-trip and post-trip forms however it is the responsibility of the vendor and customer to manage that process. Platform-managed interchanges will be available soon.

How much does it cost to list equipment?

Listing equipment is free. IMP only gets paid when you get paid.
